May 19 [14:30 EST] -- With no Alice In Chains project on the horizon, guitarist Jerry Cantrell is doing his own thing.
Cantrell is now in a studio in Northern California working on his first solo album with Alice drummer Sean Kinney lending a hand.
Cantrell and Kinney will also be joined in the Bay Area studio by a trio of bass players including Pantera's Rex Brown, Fishbone's Norwood Fisher, and Primus' Les Claypool.
No release date has been set yet for Cantrell's solo project, and there is no word on an Alice group project this year either.
