Cantrell Solo Nixed For October

September 15 [10:00 EDT] -- Jerry Cantrell's solo album won't be making its tentative late October release date, and the L.A. Times is going so far as to say it won't see the light of day until March.

A source close to the band's management office in Seattle says the October date was optimistic to begin with on the part of Columbia and adds that the postponement only means things are going well--Cantrell is on a roll and he wants to keep working on the project.

Guests to date have included Primus bassist Les Claypool, Pantera's Rex Brown, Fishbone's Angelo Moore and Norwood Fisher, and Cantrell's Alice In Chains bandmates bassist Mike Inez and drummer Sean Kinney. Cantrell has returned to Seattle from recording in Sausalito, CA, and is reportedly now working on vocals. No word as to whether or not AIC-mate Layne Staley or any other singers will be recording any background tracks.

Net sources say the tentative title is "Bogey Depot."
